With eleven golf courses within a 20- minute drive of the South Alabama Beach Area, there is a course to fit every golfer’s skill level. For the golfers looking for a challenge a Robert Trent Jones course is located just 30 minutes from the Gulf Shores area. If you are a fishing enthusiast there are several options for you to choose from.

Charter boats offer ½ day trips or all day trips for any type of fishing you can imagine. If you are an animal lover the Gulf Shores area is the right destination for you. You can have an up close and personal interaction with the stars of an Animal Planet show “The Little Zoo that Could” at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. Get even closer to wildlife in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, or spend a leisurely afternoon on a boat looking for dolphins.  If you love to “shop till you drop”  there will be no disappointments here. Located about 15 minutes from Gulf Shores is the Tanger Outlet Center. This complex has over 150 outlet stores.

The Wharf is a new area attraction that features several specialty shops along with a 112’ Ferris Wheel. There are concerts through out the year at the Amphitheater at the Wharf. Other specialty and souvenir shops are located throughout the area. For the children on your vacation or just the adults who are children at heart, Gulf Shores has several attractions to keep them entertained. Waterville USA is a complete water park, that also boasts a race car track, miniature golf, and a roller coaster.
